Our story
Sustainability starts in the mind and often ends in the kitchen. During my autumn break in 2020, while still training as an environmental engineer, I attended the “Innosuisse Business Concepts” course. There I learned that alarming numbers of old frying pans are thrown away for no reason and scrapped at a high energy cost. A first business model was sketched out.
After several prototypes and collections from kitchens and recycling centres, the first series of recoated pans went on pre-sale in spring 2022. With success: the response to the idea and the quality of the coating was overwhelming. Since then, RePan has been championing the recoating of frying pans, true to the motto: “It doesn’t have to be this way.”

The founder
Dominic S. Müller
Energy and environmental engineer
As a passionate rösti cook and young entrepreneur, you need good pans. Dominic learned to look at resources in large systems – including the pan in everyone’s kitchen. With RePan, that knowledge is now being put into practice:
“The principle of the circular economy can be applied to so many things: to the quality of the product, in life and for the environment.”

Metalworking and shipping logistics in the supplementary labour market
Brühlgut helps people back into the labour market. For the people working there, a RePan order means meaningful, challenging work – and knowing that they are making someone happy who will cook with that pan. More on this under Our production.
