Quality

Recoated – often better than new

We systematically sort out cheap goods, carry out repairs sensibly and apply the best and most durable non-stick coating we can find.

The best pan coating

Not a cheap pan, but high quality

The new coating is the heart of our pans. That’s why we apply a coating otherwise found only in the premium and professional kitchen segment – which often makes our pans even better than new.

The coating has three layers: a primer for a firm bond, a hardening middle layer and a non-stick layer of PTFE, commonly known as Teflon. This material stops food from sticking and is very inert: it reacts neither with food nor with our bodies. Read more in Is Teflon toxic?

We work with coating companies close to Switzerland, because cooperation is everything. For the environment and the region.

The four quality standards

Hand-picked quality

We only refurbish pans that are worth it. We don’t recoat cheap discount pans made of inferior material, so you won’t find them with us at all. When selling, we look at material, core, weight and design.

Repairs included

Every pan is cleaned, the handle re-riveted if needed, the base levelled and the outside freshly painted. You get a ready-to-use pan, set for many more cooking adventures.

  • New coating
  • Flat base
  • Firm handle
  • Fresh look

Recoated is not new

Traces of a first life

We put function before looks. What is normal and what is a warranty case is explained under Warranty & returns.

Stainless steel pan before and after, with a brass-coloured tint

Patina

We are used to a high gloss. The coating process, however, gives stainless steel a copper or brass tint and often a matt finish.
Fine scratches on the pan rim next to the handle mount

Scratches and marks

Don’t worry, this isn’t an excuse for Tinguely-style art. There is a lot of handwork behind every pan, and we give function priority over looks.
Worn plastic pan handle

Plastic handles

Handles are often made of short-lived, rubberised plastic. Wherever possible, we replace old plastic handles. A pity they weren’t designed better from the start!

Reusable box

The most convenient way to recoat

We send you a prepaid reusable box. Fill it with everything that needs recoating and simply leave the box at your front door.
